Five Great Habits to Start Your Day

Here are five great habits to start off each workday and help you get the maximum out of each day. Set the tone for your entire day and be known as that person that gets more done before noon than most people get done all day!

1. Plan your day and make a list
Make a list of what you intend to accomplish that day and specifically identify the one thing that would have the most impact. Make sure you are working on your highest value tasks before you do anything else. This habit gives you direction and focus, and could be the difference-maker in your success.

2. Eat a healthy protein-focused breakfast
Start your day with a healthy protein-focused breakfast to give yourself the needed energy while avoiding the the sugar crash later. Eat foods that make you feel good physically and add to your sense of well being.

3. Groom and dress for success
Your appearance says a lot about you and represents how others perceive you. Make sure you pay attention to your clothes, hair and general appearance. Pretend you are seeing a potential million-dollar client every day and you want to make your best impression. Be the person people look at and instantly think you are successful.

4. Learn Something new
Instead of listening to music or talk radio on your morning commute, find a good audiobook that focuses on success strategies. Imagine your life in a year if you learned something new every workday versus someone who tuned out and wasted that time.

5. Give yourself a distraction-free hour
When you start your workday, turn off your phone, close social media and shut down your email program. Give yourself at least one distraction-free hour to focus on your most important task.

What does A.I. say?

I asked A.I. "what is the most important habit to start the day" and it said: "Start the day with mindful intention - Instead of diving straight into your phone or tasks, take 5–10 minutes to center your mind and body. This can take different forms — but the key is being intentional, not reactive"

Ask yourself: “What went well?” and “What could I improve tomorrow?” This strengthens self-awareness and creates a growth mindset. 2. Plan Tomorrow Spend 10 minutes planning your top 3 priorities for the next day. This reduces morning decision fatigue. When you wake up, you already know what to focus on. 3. Unplug and Wind Down Turn off screens at least 30–60 minutes before bed. The blue light from devices disrupts melatonin production. Five Safeguards to Prevent A.I. from Taking Your Job

You’ve probably heard a lot of buzz regarding A.I. (artificial intelligence) taking over common jobs. There are even doomsday predictions and long lists of jobs likely to be eliminated. While A.I. will have an impact on nearly every industry, you have a lot less to fear if you are knowledgeable and prepared. Here are some basic steps you can take to get yourself in a good position when A.I. comes to your workplace. 1. Learn A.I. and Lean into A.I. Instead of sitting idle and worrying about A.I. taking over your job, become an expert in A.I. and learn about its strength and weaknesses. You may even find that A.I. can enhance what you do and add more value to your company. Once you become known as the go-to A.I. person in your company, you are seen as future-focused, more valuable and less likely to be replaced by A.I. 2. Enhance your secondary skills There may be some portions of your job that are A.I. replaceable, but other tasks that are not. For example, a sales position might use A....
